Attention Ridge families! 📢 tomorrow night is the first PTA meeting of the school year! If you’re interested in helping with school events or supporting students and teachers, this is a great way to get involved!! We are so thankful to our amazing PTA and can’t wait to meet any new prospective members 🩵

What an awesome first two days we’ve had with you, Roadrunners!! As a staff we want to thank our families and students for being the best in the world!! As a community we will LEVEL UP this year! 💪

As a reminder, kindergarten staggered start is complete!! All students grades K-5 will attend normally for the reminder of the year ✨👾

Our school community could truly not survive without these incredible people! Introducing (in order) our: administration, our LAMP, ESL, ExEd teams, our instructional coaches, and our security officers!!! You all make Ridge such a wonderful place 💕✨

We loved seeing so many Roadrunners last night at the Back to School Bash! Supplies are sorted and rooms are ready for day 1!

But we need to introduce some very important players before we started!!

To get ready for the Back to School Bash, teachers enjoyed a delicious catered lunch sponsored by the Joppa Lodge No. 40!! It was such a special treat before our longer afternoon. We are so thankful for our community partners!! 🎉

DON’T FORGET!! 👾✏️ Tomorrow is our Back to School Bash (formally known as Open House). Bring your family and come to Ridge from 4-6 to see your classroom, bring your supplies, and hear about the upcoming school year from different staff members! You’ll be able to finalize your dismissal plans, join the PTA and hear about all of the fabulous things Title I does for our school community.

We are SO thankful to the amazing families in the @ridge_elementary_pta!!! Teachers came to school today and got to enjoy our new and improved Teachers’ Lounge, as well as a beautiful breakfast spread! The lounge sports new furniture, microwaves, lockers, coffee machines and a fresh coat of paint! Coming into a clean and refreshing space will help us Level UP in the new school year! 🎮

Joining the Ridge PTA is a great way to support the Ridge staff and students! If you’re interesting in getting more involved, families are encouraged to attend the first meeting on August 27 at 5:15 PM in the Ridge Library!📚

Our final new teacher welcome goes to Megan Vrolyk!!! She is joining our ever growing ESL team at Ridge!

This welcome is actually a welcome BACK! Sara Bendele is joining the 2nd grade team. We are so happy to have her return! ✏️

Roadrunners, can you believe we are only a week away from our Back to School Bash?! We cannot wait to see all of our amazing students back in the hallways at Ridge!

Our Back to School Bash is scheduled for Thursday, August 20th from 4:00 - 6:00 pm. This is a combined Back to School and Open House event. Teachers will explain information for the upcoming school year, families can drop off supplies, and we will have information displayed throughout the school including our Title I information.

Title I presentations will begin at 4:10, 4:50, and 5:30. Families should plan to attend one session and then explore other activities throughout the building.

Families will be able to confirm transportation information, get car rider tags, and be entered to win some fun prizes!

It’s new teacher week at HCPS! We are so excited to welcome our new staff members and we plan to highlight them this week ✨first up- our new 2nd grade team member, Carolyn Saunders!!

❗HCPS is doing things differently this year for our starting Kindergartners! Kindergarten students at Ridge will begin with a staggered start.

On Monday, August 24, all K students with last names A-K will attend. Kindergartners with last names L-Z will stay home.

On Tuesday, August 25, it flips! Kindergartners with last name L-Z will attend school, and students with last names A-K will stay home.

Then, on Wednesday August 26th and every day following, all students will attend! **This staggered start does NOT impact 1st-5th grade students. They attend each day as normal. :)**
